The European conference on “SDGs, Climate and the Future of Europe” of May 31st 2018 in Milan, hosted by the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development, will take place at a critical moment when Europeans reflect on their future. It is the responsibility of each one of us. It is the responsibility of the Commission, in shaping its Communication on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the EU budget & 2020-2025 programme. It is the responsibility of the Heads of State and Government, who should be ready to “innovate”.

The conference will advance a new narrative for Europe based on the SDGs. The 2030 Agenda’s “Transforming Our World” is an invitation to “Transform Our Europe” and to make Europeans the champions of the “leap forward of humanity” that is necessary to face the challenges of the 21st century. 

La Conferenza internazionale su “SDGs, Clima e il Futuro dell’Europa”, organizzata il 31 maggio 2018 a Milano dall’Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, si svolgerà in un momento critico di riflessione sui prossimi passi dell’Unione europea. Questa riflessione è compito di ognuno di noi. È anche compito della Commissione, che sta dando forma al proprio Comunicato sull’Implementazione degli SDGs, al bilancio europeo e al programma per il quinquennio 2020-2025. È responsabilità dei Capi di Stato e di Governo, che dovrebbero essere pronti a “innovare”.

La Conferenza proporrà una nuova narrativa per l’Europa basata sugli SDGs. L’appello “Trasformiamo il mondo” dell’Agenda 2030, è un invito a “Trasformare la nostra Europa” e a rendere gli europei i campioni del “passo in avanti dell’umanità” che è necessario per affrontare le sfide del 21° secolo.
