Hiiumaa Children’s Festival is the only festival on the island that is dedicated to the children and their parents. The main aim of the festival is to broaden the mind and knowledge about the after-school activities and give the possibility to get part in different activities without leaving the island. The festival is to be held in cooperation with various organisations that offer different activities for the children and youth.

There are expected 12 years old and younger children, also their sisters and brothers. There will be activities for everyone. Starting from science workshop and ending with the medieval custom demonstration. The festival starts with the procession on the main square. Children and families are expected to participate. All activities and workshops are for free. Also, it is possible to buy food and drinks for extra payment.

Festival is held by the municipality of the Hiiumaa and it is important to appreciate families and children, especially those who don’t live in the big capitals but has decided to live in the countryside. It is important to show support to the families in the job that effects future – rising children.

Hiiumaa Lastefestival on ainuke saare festival, kus tegevused on suunatud eelkõige lastele ja nende vanematele. Festivali eesmärgiks on avardada laste silmaringi läbi mitmekülgsete tegevuste. Festival toimub ühel päeval ning sellesse on kaasatud erinevad huvi- ja vaba aja tegevust pakkuvad organisatsioonid nii saarel kui ka mujalt Eestis.

Festival on mõelnud eelkõige 12 aastastele ja noorematele lastele, kuid oodatud on ka vanemad õed ja vennad. Tegevusi jagub erinevatele vanusegruppidele. Festival algab traditsioonilise rongkäiguga keskväljakult, kuhu on oodatud osa saama kõik huvilised. Oodatud on nii emad kärudega, lapsed ja täiskasvanud jalgrataste, rulluiskude ja tõukerattaga.

Festival on kõikidele osalejatele tasuta ning kohapeal on võimalik soovi korral osta tasu eest sööki, jooki ja osaleda atrkatsioonidele. Kõik töötoad ja programm on tasuta. Festivali patrooniks on Hiiumaa vallavanem ning päevajuht vesihiir Ruffi.
