Emotion for Change: Closing Ceremony of the VIU Semester on Sustainable Development

Emotion for Change, a concert for Climate Change: Closing Ceremony of the Venice International University Semester on Sustainable Development.

On the occasion of the Venice International University (VIU) closing ceremony of the 2017 Spring Semester on Sustainable Development, VIU’s international students and local community are offered the concert/performance Emotion for Change. Conceived for the Paris COP21 by Sara Michieletto, first violin at the Venice Opera House La Fenice, the concert/performance aims at raising the awareness on Climate Change through music, and to inspire people to undertake concrete actions in their daily life. The concert is part of the VIU’s new educational path on “Art and Sustainability”, that addresses sustainable development, as one of today’s Global Challenges, by meeting different arts and artists such as musicians, performers, visual artists. VIU’s 2017 Spring Semester students come from 26 countries, from the far East to the far West of the world, under the guidance of 26 international professors selected from the 17 universities that form Venice International University.



In occasione della cerimonia di chiusura del Semestre primaverile 2017 dedicato allo Sviluppo Sostenibile, la Venice International University (VIU) promuove Emotion for Change, un concerto/performance aperto alla comunità locale, agli studenti e ai professori internazionali della VIU.Ideato per la COP21 di Parigi da Sara Michieletto, primo violino del Tearo La Fenice di Venezia, il concerto mira a aumentare la consapevolezza delle persone verso i cambiamenti climatici, attraverso brani inediti e un percorso di ascolto costruito ad hoc.Il concerto rientra in un nuovo percorso didattico della VIU dedicato a "Arte e Sostenibilità" che affronta le Sfide Globali, come quella della Sostenibilità, attraverso l'incontro e il dialogo con artisti internazionali, come musicisti, performers e artisti visivi.Al primo semestre 2017 partecipano 162 studenti da 26 paesi di tutto il mondo, sotto la guida di 26 docenti internazionali provenienti dalle 17 università che compongono la Venice International University.
