Designathon Works is a unique design thinking method developed for children to empower and unleash their creativity to design a better world using new technologies.
A designathon is a structured workshop in which children (ages 7 – 12 years) invent, build and present their self-devised solutions to a social or environmental issue around the Sustainable Development Goals. A workshop lasts four to six hours and is facilitated by education professionals. The experience helps children become future ready through learning to design and use technology such as mini-motors and sensors.
The Designathon method combines aspects of Design Thinking and Maker Education, both approaches which are gaining ground in education systems around the world. JCI Zagreb and a certified Designathon Works facilitator are conducting a Designathon workshop in Zagreb primary school.
Designathon Works je jedinstvena design thinking metoda razvijena za djecu s ciljem osnaživanja njihove kreativnosti kako bi kreairala bolji svijet koristeći nove tehnologije.
Designathon je strukturirana radionica u kojoj djeca (7-12 godina) osmišljavaju, grade i prezentiraju izume za društvene ili okolišne probleme oko UN Ciljeva održivog razvoja. Radionica traje 4-6 sati i vođena je od strane educiranih profesionalaca. Iskustvo pomaže djeci da budu spremni za budućnost kroz učenje dizajniranja i korištenja tehnologije poput mini motora i senzora.
Designathon metoda kombinira aspekte Design Thinking i Makers Edukacije, oba pristupa koja doživljavaju uzlet u obrazovnim sustavima diljem svijeta. JCI Zagreb i certificirani Designathon Works facilitator provode Designathon radionicu u Zagrebu u osnovnoj školi.
