The Bucharest-Ilfov region is composed by the Municipality of Bucharest – capital of Romania and Ilfov County. It is located in the southern part of the country. The total surface of the Bucharest-Ilfov is of 1,821 sq. km. The two entities which compose the region are also the smallest territorial and administrative units of Romania from the perspective of the surface. The region has a population of more than 2.2 million inhabitans, most of them concentrated in the Capital City that means a density of more than 8000 inhabitants per sq. km (8th place in Europe). We want to have a debate with local authorities and stakeholders about some challenges of the region. We also have the opportunity to find exemples of best pratices concerning Regional Operational Programme projects.Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency (BIRDA) is a non-governmental, non-profit agency of public utility operating under the Law 315/2004 on regional development in Romania.

Regiunea Bucureşti-Ilfov este compusă din Municipiul Bucureşti - capitala României şi judeţul Ilfov. Este situată în parte sudică a ţării. Suprafaţa totală este de 1821 kmp. Regiunea Bucureşti-Ilfov este cea mai mică ca suprafaţă din România. Aceasta are o populaţie de peste 2,2 milioane de locuitori, cea mai mare parte fiind concentrată în limitele administrative ale capitalei, ceea ce reprezintă o densitate de peste 8000 de locuitori/kmp (locul 8 în Europa). Ne dorim să creăm un spaţiu de dezbatere cu autorităţi locale şi alte părţi interesate despre provocările cu care se confruntă regiunea. Avem oportunitatea de a descoperi câteva exemple de succes ale proiectelor finanţate prin Programul Operaţional Regional. Agenţia pentru Dezvoltare Regională Bucureşti-Ilfov (ADRBI) este o organizaţie non-guvernamentală, non-profit şi de utilitate publică care operează în cadrul legii 315/2004 privind dezvoltarea regională în România.
